Symphony Paper Making Process,
as green as you can get!
Our handmade paper process is a very green undertaking! The base of the handmade paper is 100% recycled paper “scraps” that we buy from an envelope manufacturer after they have die cut their envelope. We then put that paper in a blender with water, and make a recycled pulp. The paper is either pulled through a screen, or poured onto a deckle to make sheets. At that time we embedded the paper with seeds and recycled, natural material such as living fern, dried flower petals, even recycled money! The paper is then dried on a rack with fans so we do not ruin the integrity of the seeds with heat. After the paper is dried it is diecut into shapes and ornaments, bookmarks, journals etc. We like to print on an accompanying planting instruction card, or deboss a logo on the pieces to stay very green, and so that chemicals aren’t being put into the ground. (it isn’t environmental to plant 4 color process printing!). Many of the items are tied with a raffia ribbon on the top, which is also a natural fiber product. And it is all made here in the USA! We look forward to working together on lots of “green” orders with you!
